Fields of Study

CALS had the greatest representation among survey respondents, with 24.2%. Arts & Sciences fell just behind with 21.3%. All other colleges and schools within Cornell's undergraduate offerings were represented by respondents, except for the Hotel School.

40 different majors were represented by respondents of The Sun's survey. The most popular major of respondents was Computer Science with 12% of the sample. During their undergraduate experience, most respondents did not change their major at all. Only 5.8% of respondents switched their majors two or more times.

Involvement

8.7% of survey respondents are atheletes. 18.2% of the respondents are involved at Greek Life at Cornell. Additionally, 8.9% reported previously being a member of Greek Life before disaffiliating. Toggle the graph below to see how GPAs differed by athlete and Greek Life status.


Respondents were also asked if they were a transfer student. 20.4% of respondents are transfer students.

Most transfer students came to Cornell during their Sophomore fall. Transfer students came from 18 different institutions. When asked whether they regret transferring to Cornell, 85.7% responded "No."

Grades

Class of 2026 respondents reported an average GPA of 3.75. Zero respondents reported a GPA less than 2.5.

When divided by home region, respodents from the southern portion of the US averaged a GPA of 3.89, while respondents from the west average to 3.71. International students fell in between with an average of 3.85.
